Holiday Hoops are no match for Woodrow Men's Varsity Basketball Woodrow's Men Varsity Basketball started their holiday break with their first District 12-5A game against North Dallas coming out on top with a win of 78-45. They went on to clinch the championship title at the Lake Country Classic Tournament held December 29 th and 30th in Fort Worth. They followed up with their second district win over Sunset with a score of 75-31. With the school doors back open, Woodrow defeated Adamson 50- 35 and won the highly contested game against Seagoville last Friday with a final score of 70-42. Molina proved to be quite the match with some serious 3 point shooters this past Tuesday but Woodrow fought to stay undefeated in District play with a final score of 66-50. Woodrow's only loss this season has been against Kimball losing in the final seconds by score of 47-46.

The Wildcats will take on Bryan Adams this Friday, January 20th at Forester with tip off at 8pm. Let's keep rolling Woodrow!

Booster The Athletic Booster Club is looking for volunteers

The Athletic Booster Club is looking for volunteers

to serve as chairs and committee members on our board much like serving on the PTA board or any other well run organization.

In the past year and a half, the athletic booster club has really been able to step up its game (pun intended). In order to insure that ALL sports, ALL athletes and ALL coaches remain well cared for at Woodrow, we need to expand our base to continue to offer the kind of support we have been able to for the past year.

Much like the PTA, we are asking that you look through the positions available and let us know where you can plug in. We have attempted to simplify this process by breaking down the positions available. If we don't fill positions for the remaining events this year and next year then we risk not being able to maintain the level of excellence that our athletes are becoming accustomed.

We don't know the exact statistics but well over half our student population is involved in athletics and those that aren't directly involved in athletics as an athlete are certainly involved as fans, cheerleaders, etc.

Please contact the booster club at woodrowsportsbooster@gmail.com to let us know how you are interested in serving. We will also have a meeting early February so look for details soon about date/time/place for a fun off campus meeting!

A letter from DISD, Rank one Cover, explains how all of the athletic paper work will now be done on line. The physical form is necessary for every sport and must be completed for your child to play athletics at Woodrow. If your child plays football the physical must be done by August 3rd. If you have any specific questions please contact David Tuchmayer, Campus Athletic Trainer or Coach Estes. Their email addresses are below.
