Woodrow Administration Request:
Review Dress Code in Fall of 2019 to Take Effect Fall 2020
Outcome sought: Reduce time faculty spends enforcing dress code to 0% of their day
Decide and prioritize purposes of dress code, e.g.,
-safety (recognition of who belongs),
-school identity and pride,
-discipline (i.e., rule enforcement), -erasure of socioeconomic divides
Recommend: Changes that support priorities above, consequences within School Board Policy, the possibility of a school store
Timeline: work to begin in the fall with a representative group of teachers, parents, community members, etc. Bring recommendations to the SBDM Meeting for vote In December.Goal: notification of Dress Code changes to families for following year by spring of prior year.
