PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

MASK UPDATES

THE TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY HAS RELEASED GUIDANCE FOR SCHOOLS TO HELP MITIGATE THE SPREAD OF COVID-19. Schools must continue to require students and staff to wear masks. Based on these guidelines and our commitment to student and staff safety, Dallas ISD will continue following our current health and safety protocols requiring that students and staff wear masks over their nose and mouth and adhere to hand-washing and social distancing practices when on district property.

WOODROW WILSON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Woodrow Wilson Community Foundation

THE 2021 APPLICATION FOR SCHOLARSHIPS MANAGED BY THE WOODROW WILSON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION IS OPEN.

This year we have 31 individual scholarship awards totaling $49,250. The deadline for submissions is March 26. Students can get more information on the requirements and instructions and access the application by visiting the Woodrow Wilson Community Foundation website.

SUPERINTENDENT'S SCHOLARSHIP

THE DALLAS WORKS MAYOR'S SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS.Visit the Dallas Works website for additional information on eligibility and application deadlines.

9TH GRADE STAAR MOCK EXAM

FRESHMEN WILL TAKE THE ENGLISH STAAR MOCK EXAM ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10. When we return from Spring Break we would like freshmen to come to campus on Wednesdays for academic support from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and socialization in the afternoon. More information to come.

PRE-AP COURSE UPDATE

BEGINNING IN THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR, 6TH-12TH GRADE COURSES IDENTIFIED AS PRE-AP WILL BE KNOWN AS HONORS COURSES. The Board of Trustees approved the name change recently to comply with College Board regulations. Visit the DISD website for more information.

Dear Wildcat Families:

It’s hard to believe it has been a year since COVID changed life and school as we knew it. I’m proud of the perseverance shown by teachers, staff, students, and you during this time. Despite enormous challenges, our athletic teams and performance groups continue excel.
