MINI-SCHOOL NIGHT

PLEASE JOIN US THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 9 FOR OUR ANNUAL MINI-SCHOOL NIGHT. The entire event will be held via Zoom. We will start at 5:30 p.m. with a brief welcome and Title 1 presentation by Principal Moran. After the presentation parents and guardians are invited to experience their students' schedules through a series of meet and greets from 6-8 p.m. 

FREE INTERNET FOR FAMILIES

DISD WILL CONTINUE PROVIDING RELIABLE HOME INTERNET SERVICES TO SUPPORT STUDENT LEARNING. The Board of Trustees has authorized phase 2 of Operation Connectivity, which will provide free home Internet services through the 2021-22 school year. Call the hotline at 972 925 6000 for more information. Complete the application online.

SUICIDE PREVENTION & STUDENT ATTENDANCE AWARENESS MONTH

SEPTEMBER IS BOTH ATTENDANCE AWARENESS AND SUICIDE PREVENTION MONTH. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for people ages 10-34 and 4th leading cause for people 35-54. Woodrow has counselors, a school-based mental health clinician, and partners with Parkland through the Youth and Family Clinic to meet student and staff social, emotional, and mental needs. Visit the National Alliance on Mental Illness website for more information on Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.

Students with perfect attendance during the month of September will be entered into a raffle for a special prize. One student will be selected from each trustee district will be recognized districtwide.

2ND ANNUAL FILL THE PEACE PANTRIES EVENT

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 FROM 10 A.M. - 6 P.M. IS THE ANNUAL FILL THE PEACE PANTRIES EVENT BENEFITTING OUR EAST DALLAS SCHOOLS. Stop at the Arboretum Village Parking lot, next to White Rock Alehouse to donate.

SPRING MUSICAL ANNOUNCEMENT

THE VERY SPECIAL TRADITION OF ANNOUNCING THE ANNUAL SPRING MUSICAL IS SOMETHING STUDENTS AND PARENTS HAVE LOOKED FORWARD TO, EACH FALL, FOR YEARS. The tradition continues this Wednesday evening, September 8, at 7 p.m.
