Our IB students have been busy this semester! The sophomores, who officially will be entering the IB Diploma Programme next year, spent a lunch at the end of January learning from our counselors and IB teachers about the various course offerings they can take over their next two years. Thank you to our parent volunteers who helped deliver and serve lunch to them!
Our IB juniors and seniors have been working so hard on their Extended Essays - the juniors, choosing their topics, and the seniors, turning in their final papers. We are excited to support and celebrate them in all their endeavors, so read ahead to see how you can help! We know our freshmen are finally starting to settle into Woodrow now, and we would still like to support them before the year is over. Stay tuned for more on this!
IB Seniors - Ice Cream Celebration for finishing their Extended Essays will be February 28 from 12:50-1:20 p.m. under the gray tarp behind the gym. Please check the SignUpGenius and help us out with your time and food donations to make this event possible for our seniors.
IB Juniors - Extended Essay research trip to the Fondren Library at SMU will be March 5 from 5-7 p.m. Students will meet at the SMU library, and our IB parent group is planning to send Ms. Drott (IB English teacher) with some snack bags for them. Email me at jenadams1@gmail.com if you are interested in helping with the assembling effort. I should have more specifics next week on how many kids are going.
IB Exams - we are working on getting the schedule of the end of year IB exams for our IB Juniors and Seniors published soon. Once it's confirmed, we will email it out to you and post it on the main calendar.
Finally, our IB Coordinator, Ms. Rasgado, should be back from maternity leave after spring break, and, in the meantime, please feel free to reach out to Mr. Cardenas (lcardenas@dallasisd.org) with any IB questions.
