PTA PRESIDENT MESSAGE

Woodrow Nation,

It is Woodrow Homecoming Week! We welcome all Alumni, feeder pattern families and community to the big Homecoming Festival this Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. on campus.

Please take a moment and sign up for a volunteer shift at the Homecoming Festival or Dance

We still need your help with our Wildcat Family Sponsorships. Please take a minute to sign up and help us continue all our great traditions with your support! While you are there please take an extra moment and sign up as a PTA member.

This Wednesday, October 6 is the Homecoming Festival on our campus on the new turf. Thursday, October 7 is the football game, and Friday, October 8 is the HOCO dance. Your Woodrow PTA has been working hard to make this a full and amazing week of celebrations, fun and Woodrow pride for our students, families, alumni and community.

FAMILY SPONSORSHIPS

THE PTA IS LOOKING FOR FAMILY SPONSORS to help bridge the critical gaps in the DISD school budget as well as fund the Senior Class Activities Fund for each class. Visit the PTA website for more information on how you can support Woodrow.

Spirit Days - begin October 4

  • Monday - Wear everything gold
  • Tuesday - Tie Dye
  • Wednesday - Wilderness
  • Thursday - Class colors (seniors=red, juniors=white, sophomores=gray, freshmen=black)

October 6

  • Last day to purchase Homecoming t-shirts outside the cafeteria by the track field side during all lunches. Shirts are $12 and exact cash is preferred.
  • The Woodrow PTA will be hosting a festival on our new practice field on Wednesday, October 6 from 5-7 p.m. to gear up for the big game on Thursday! Enjoy food, fun activities and performances by the Woodrow Wilson Sweethearts and Cheerleaders as we all root for our Varsity Wildcat Football Team! Volunteers are needed throughout the event.

WOODROW WILSON PERFORMING ARTS
WWHS Performing Arts

WOODROW WILSON PERFORMING ARTS IS PROUD TO PRESENT A BRAND NEW ADAPTATION OF C.S. LEWIS' THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE. This adaptation was developed specifically for the students of Woodrow Wilson.  

The production will be in the WWHS Auditorium. We will observe all safety procedures, requiring all audience members to be masked during the entire time they are on campus. We will also seat audience members with social distancing measures.

Performances are Friday, October 15; Saturday, October 16; and Monday, October 18 at 7 p.m. There will be a 2 p.m. matinee performance on Sunday, October 16.

Tickets are available at the door only; there is no reserved seating. Ticket prices are $10 and $5 for students (of any school). Doors open 30 minutes in advance.

PARENT RESOURCES AND REMINDERS

Family and Community Engagement Survey: Please complete the Family and Community Engagement Office Survey to help the school serve you better.

Free Uniforms: Dallas ISD is providing one free uniform top and bottom for each eligible student. If you’d like to submit a request, please complete the SES form and email it to our Community Liaison Elizabeth Jurado

Peace Pantry: The Woodrow Community Peace Pantry helps supplement meals and provides healthy snacks, uniforms, and toiletries to students. No paperwork is necessary. Email our Community Liaison Elizabeth Jurado to schedule a pickup time. 

HOCO Dresses & Suits: Does your student need something to wear for the Homecoming Dance? Please have him/her stop by the main office before or after school any day starting next week. We have received gently used dresses and suits from our community.

FAFSA WORKSHOPS

THERE ARE FOUR FAFSA WORKSHOPS IN OCTOBER. Join via Zoom to get expert assistance on completing your FAFSA/TAFSA. All sessions are from 5-8 p.m. and are available in English and Spanish. Visit the ASP Dallas website to register and get more information.
