MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Campus Safety

In light of what continues to occur across our nation, we must practice…practice…practice.

We will conduct an active shooter drill on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) provides consistent, clear, shared language and actions among all students, staff, and first responders for all hazards. Action-based, it allows us, first responders, students, and parents to share a specific vocabulary for quick and coordinated action. It also acts as a tool for training, which develops the muscle memory necessary to respond appropriately in moments of crisis.

The SRP is based on five actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter.

Our students will watch a sample video during Advisory on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. After the students watch the video we will conduct our safety drill to ensure that we are prepared in the event that something occurs.

Schools Closed on November 8th for Election Day

Several DISD schools will serve as polling locations on Tuesday, November 8.  To ensure the safety of our students and staff, the Board of Trustees have voted to make November 8 a remote Professional Development Day for teachers, and students will not report to school that day.
