MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Schools Closed on November 8th for Election Day

Several DISD schools will serve as polling locations on Tuesday, November 8.  To ensure the safety of our students and staff, the Board of Trustees have voted to make November 8 a remote Professional Development Day for teachers, and students will not report to school that day.

FUTURE WILDCATS
IB Application Meeting

An informational meeting via Zoom will be held on Thursday, November 10th at 5:00 p.m. for all 8th Grade students at J.L. Long, TAG/Innovation, and Private schools.

Future Wildcats Open House

All future Wildcats are welcome to an Open House to learn more about Woodrow. November 16th at 6:00 p.m.

The event is intended for all 8th Grade students at J.L. Long and other feeder schools.

Letter Jackets for Fall Sports

November 16th at 4:15 p.m. will be the last Letter Jacket fitting of the fall. There will be an additional fitting in the spring for Spring Sports.

Spirit Shop Volunteers Needed

The Spirit Shop is open outside the Big Gym from 7:30 to 9:05 a.m. every Thursday morning. There is a staff member posted at the glass doors by the Big Gym to let people in who want to shop or pick up orders.

46th Annual Lakewood Home Tour

Tickets for the 46th Annual Lakewood Home Tour are on sale now. On November 12th and 13th, join us for this community-wide event and tour six treasured Lakewood neighborhood homes. Proceeds from the home tour go back into our East Dallas public schools including J.L. Long, Woodrow Wilson and other feeder pattern elementary schools.

PEACE PANTRY
Peace Pantry Supplemental Food Pick Up

Pick up bags of supplemental food and meal items in the Main Office before school or in Room 1103 after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (4:30 to 5:00 p.m.). 

No paperwork is needed. 

For any questions or assistance, please see Ms. Tanner in the Main Office. 

Peace Pantry Thanksgiving Bags

If you can help, please sign up to provide a complete Thanksgiving meal for our Woodrow families in need. 

Sign up for your family to provide a complete bag or sign up for multiple spots as a group. In the SUG, we have provided a list of the items to be included in each bag.  

On Thursday, November 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., volunteers will be in Woodrow's Horseshoe to collect the bags. 

The families will receive the bags on Thursday and Friday after school.

One Act Play Auditions

Auditions for Woodrow's One Act Play will be after school on Monday, November 14th in the Black Box. 

Spring Musical Callbacks

Callbacks for Frozen will be announced Monday!

After school on Monday, we will be going over songs in the Choir Room.

Wildcat Volleyball

Volleyball season came to a close Friday night with a loss to Reedy in the Area Championship. 

We will miss the leadership shown by this amazing group of seniors and appreciate the hard work of all of the girls on the team, the managers, and coaches Harris, Garcia, and Bruscato.

 2002 was a great season!
