Dear Woodrow Family - 

I can't believe we are less than a week away from the beginning of another school year!  This will be the 12th year that my household gears up for another first day of school, and it still shocks me how quickly summer passes.

For administration and some of our teachers, summer ended weeks ago.  Woodrow staff, led by our new Principal, Mrs. Barnett, have been hard at work getting the school ready to welcome nearly 1800 students on August 15th.  Members of our PTA Staff Appreciation team have also already been at work welcoming our new and returning teachers to let them know how grateful we all are for their dedication to our school.  

If you're anything like me, you are so over hearing terms like "unprecedented" and 
"new normal" when talking about our schools.  I know we can't ignore what the world, and especially our children, have endured over the last few years, but I do think as a community we can create an environment at Woodrow that celebrates our students' resiliency.  

For many students at Woodrow, the time spent at school far surpasses the time spent at home each day, and friends and teachers often spend more time with our children than we as parents do!  It's for this reason that we refer to our school community as the "Woodrow Family" and why the PTA has decided on "This is Home" for this school year's and Homecoming theme.

The PTA will be working hard all year to ensure that students and parents are informed and have the tools they need to thrive at school.  We ask that all of our families frequently access at least one of the many outlets the school uses to communicate important news and updates.  Our school website, Woodrow Insider page on Facebook, Instagram and the Remind (@wwhscom) are all valuable resources for staying informed.  

The next week will no doubt be chaotic!  We are here to help, and we do not want anyone to feel lost.  Please don't hesitate to reach out to your Woodrow Family if you need help.  E-mail me, hit us up on social media or give the office a call if there are questions you have about the upcoming school year.  We are so excited to welcome everyone home next week!

Students will be able to come to school during the following days & times to pick up a printed copy of their schedule and take pictures for their photo ID.  

Please note: Counselors will not be available to receive or make schedule changes during schedule pick-up.  All schedule changes will be made beginning the first day of school using the form that will be distributed by counselors to students.

Counselors are busy making changes to the master schedule which may affect what is currently reflected in PowerSchool on your student's schedule.  Changes may occur between now and schedule pick-up, so please be patient as the counseling team makes their updates.

11th Grade
Friday August 12th - 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

10th Grade
Friday August 12th - 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

9th Grade students who did not attend Cub Camp may pick up a schedule during any of the times listed above.

The Woodrow PTA has purchased the Remind platform to help our students, teachers and parents stay informed! Remind is a text-based communication system that will allow the Woodrow Community to stay connected by receiving timely messages from Administration and the PTA.

Teachers and staff who have already created classes using the Remind platform will continue to use the same class codes, but will now have access the advanced messaging features included with the new platform.

Woodrow Administration has already created a channel for parents to join that will be used for school-wide communications such as newsletters, reminders and emergency communications.  

To join, either text the code @wwhscom to 81010 or enter the code in the Remind App.
